Generally, I think we need to try and step back from the idea that we are slaves to the monetary system with no alternative options and consider all possibilities. Surely there's merit in boldly imagining how we fundamentally want to "be" in the world and then exploring all possible ways of making that aspiration a reality. The inclination to squash this kind of radical imagination is all too pervasive in our modern cultures but it needs to be nurtured and celebrated - it could be the difference between prosperity and collapse.
